Reviews with TLC

When I decided to take a hiatus in July 2019, I didn't know how long it would last. By the end of the years, I'd decided it would last at least through 2020... And it has, sort of. Today is the last day of 2020, and I have decided to publish lists of the books I've read this year with a few comments, not full reviews, just a few comments. I am considering revamping this reviews blog and reinstituting it in 2021 with a monthly or bi-monthly book list rather than a weekly review. I enjoy sharing my thoughts on the books I read, and some books I really want to review. Others I don't. I'd rather not feel like I have to review a book just because I read it, so I might try this new approach. It won't be as structured as before, but I think it might be more useful. For those of you who might be wondering why, let me start with a short discussion about why I started reviewing books first on my website many years ago. I wanted to promote reading. I wanted to support authors I liked. I wanted to create conversations around books. Over the years, I've reviewed many books mainly books I liked but some that were just okay and some I outright hated. I reviewed books to speak to readers and to encourage people to read. Over the years, reviewing has been a source of immense joy as well as immense frustration at times. Right now, I need a break from reviewing. It has begun to feel like a chore instead of a joy. In addition, I feel like I need to spend more focused time on my work, both writing and promoting my books . I will leave this blog act...

As I currently have a backlog of books to read and review, I have decided to take a hiatus from accepting books for my reviews queue. I will post an announcement when I'm able to accept books for review again. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Welcome to Reviews with TLC! I started reviewing books on my website several years ago, so I could share books I enjoyed with other people. I hope to bring attention to authors readers may have overlooked or never heard of with my reviews blog. Shortly thereafter, I decided to add reviews of places I visited, restaurants I enjoyed, and events I attended in order to help those planning a trip make more informed choices. After a while I discovered it was easier to write reviews on a blog, so I created the first version of Reviews with TLC. That went well but the blog didn't offer me all the options I wanted for posting. Now, I'm moving that blog to here! This, hopefully, will be the forever home of Reviews with TLC! Over the next couple of months, I'll be moving my old reviews to the new blog before going live with new reviews.
